Mclean – Finally In Love

After the success of ‘Broken‘ and the recent smash, ‘My Name‘, one of the UK’s most promising vocalists returns with the follow up, ‘Finally In love’.

Mclean – Finally In Love:

“Its all about you, Its all bout us..”

Mclean is growing into a household name, offering the unique blend of infectious production fused beautifully with his soulful vocals and Finally In love is no different, the track provides easy listening and definitely enjoyable (you cannot help but to sing along), with its catchy combination of beat and synths, the lyrics and vocals complete an overall good record. Another factor in Mclean’s rise to prominence is the standard of his videos, so once again expect great visuals, good sets and a concept to match his groundbreaking sound.

As a fan of his earlier work (under the name Digga), obviously I was concerned whether commercial success would taint his ‘sound’, however Mclean has been nothing short of quality, it is refreshing and great to know that we are yet to hear the best of him, for now Finally In Love is another favourite that I look forward to hear on rotation on both TV and Radio.

'Finally In Love' is available to pre-order on iTunes

Mclean – My Name (Official Video)

Continuing from the success of his debut ‘Broken’, Mclean returns with his second single, ‘My Name’

A staggering 20,000,000 hits have been counted over various network and sharing sites (eg. youtube & myspace) for his debut single ‘Broken’, so obviously there is some expectation on this second offering. Listening to the track, I sense two vibes being forced together, which in this case works, Mclean has more versatility in his voice than he is credited for and it is that element which makes this song work, it becomes a more commercially polished neo-soul record, the production has a distinct UK feel to it, which combined with Mclean’s vocals offers the record a more global feel.

The video, featuring an adaptation of the famous Katherine Zeta-Jones ‘Laser’ scene in the movie Entrapment, the quality like his previous video is outstanding, on a personal level, I felt the song could have deserved a better treatment, however the shots make up for it, Mclean provides a presence on screen as well on record and his mature sound is something that has been recently missing within modern music.

I’m glad that this has been chosen as the second single as it is something different as far as putting out two slow-tempo records in comparison to the conventional dance record with a high profile cross-over feature.

For the more up beat music lovers, here are two official remixes for the new single:

Mclean – Broken

There comes a time where I hear a song from a british artist that makes me feel proud to be british, this is one of those moments for me, Introducing Mclean with Broken:

This song really needs to description, one of those timeless classics that speaks for itself, Mclean’s voice so beautifully manages to transcend the emotion from his soul to your ears, upon a soft production, the drum pattern is catchy and offers a foundation for the melody which guides you through a journey of emotion.

As a vocalist, Mclean is so talented, so natural and his execution of the song really makes it stand out, I am a fan of his from this one song, definitely look forward to hearing more from this outstanding singer.

Look out for the remix with none other than Tinchy Stryder:

Another remix I really like is this with emcee Professor Green:

Professor Green is an underrated emcee and he really grasps the concept well, showing he can deliver his lyrical ability with heartfelt emotion behind it, really compliments the song.
