Tinchy Stryder – GAME OVER ft. Giggs, Pro Green, Tinie Tempah, Devlin, Example & Chipmunk

With the current dominance of Urban artists and music in general within the charts, it is safe to say that the scene is being recognized, regardless of who or how, the fact that so many artists are able to crossover into mainstream status and be considered household names is a big accomplishment for an ever-growing industry.

So no greater way to celebrate such an achievement than with a track like this.

GAME OVER:

As Tinchy Stryder prepares to release his new album Third Strike, he brings us this monstrous anthem, featuring a plethora of talent, the best thing about this line-up is its range of diversity.

1. Giggs, the elite rapper kicks it off with his distinct raw style & sound, cementing his authority on the track as well as the industry (despite their efforts to restrict his movement),

2. Pro Green, the quirky wordsmith is finally reaping rewards for all his hard work and takes this in his stride with a cocky yet clever lyrical combination,

3. Tinie Tempah, the two-time number 1 star is on a successful role and his delivery on this is a testament to his growth from chart newcomer to a resident member of that premier section of artists.

4. Devlin has made a huge impact in the scene, having been a dominant name within the Grime scene for years, the youngster makes the leap into chart status and he does not hold back on this, definitely one of the better verses.

5. Example, this verse was a complete surprise to many, he deserves his place but he really takes this opportunity and puts it in a headlock, merging a new and old school style with his own delivery, it strangely reminds me of Roots Manuva at times, it is without doubt a really good effort.

6. Chipmunk, i think everybody expected more from the young mainstream phenom, however it a bad verse, its cocky, confident and raw, reminds me of Dubz at one point, which can’t be a bad thing. Munk’s offering definitely takes time to grow in comparison to the others but good none the less.

7. Tinchy Stryder, Cloud 9 Strydes steps up to platform and truly delivers, considered my most as one of the best verses we have heard from him in a while, he definitely switches the level for this one and stamps his mark within the game.

Together, these seven artists really take a stand for the scene, showing variety as well as unity among artists in every tier of the charts.

To me this appeared like the TV series Heroes, at one point you have each artist on one stage with their own “power”, an immense occasion in the scene’s history.

Bonus: there is no way i could leave this out..

Sway really delivering something spectacular as he promotes his new mixtape The Delivery 2

TINCHY STRYDER – YOU’RE NOT ALONE

tinchy_ndubz

The STAR IN THE HOOD looks set to be in line for his third number 1 with this latest effort.

The club anthem sample, the catchy and distinct flow, this epic number, dispite having two number ones already, looks set to be Stryder’s coronation as a mainstream success.

TINCHY STRYDER – SPOTLIGHT ft. TANYA LACEY

My favourite track from his new album – CATCH 22

The album itself is a fusion of Electronic, Grime and Alternative, it has many different elements to it, but they manage to fit together as a whole, a very energetic, feel-good album.

Tinchy Stryder – Spotlight ft. Tanya Lacey:

‘Spotlight’ is my standout track from the album, production wise, it is bass and synth heavy, electronic sounding instruments blended with sharp acoustic sounding drum kicks, there is a lot happening but it does not sound over the top, reminds me of an old Stryder favourite of mine, ‘Dance 4 Now’, it almost sets a scene, you do not need a dance for this, you just move with the vibe, it has a dark element to it, which helps Tinchy Stryder’s voice stand out and sound prominent, whilst the organ sounds compliment the track like a flame to a candle. Track 4 off Catch 22, Spotlight is another potential chart topper, I could not see many people disliking the song, it has so much positive energy, the beat is so well constructed and Stryder flows almost effortlessly over it with confidence and ease like only Tinchy Stryder can. Tanya Lacey’s vocals boost the track and provide an extra feeling, Spotlight perfectly captures Tinchy’s position as a star in today’s music industry and not just in the hood.

Tinchy Stryder – Dance 4 Now:

I have to admit, I was gutted not to find Finish Line ft. Sef (Produced by Music Kidz) on the final release,

however, It does not make the album any less, as Catch 22 is 18 tracks of cross-over frenzy, the album is cleverly crafted, there are a lot of behind the scenes situations that as an audience we do not know about, taking all that into consideration, this album is impressive. Tinchy Stryder will always represent Grime and UK music even he features on a Country song, this album shows how ahead of his time he really is, sure people will find negatives but that is the Catch 22 in itself, I think Tinchy Stryder has done enough in his career so far to earn him the respect and the chance to experiment with his sound, doing so, with Catch 22 he has not dissapointed.

Chipmunk signs to Major Label

UK’s own Mr Munk, better known as Chipmunk has announced that he has signed to major label Sony (Columbia) records.

The move has come whilst much anticipation for the release of his debut ‘I Am Chipmunk‘ continues, the Mobo Award winner has been risen from a little known emcee to one of the urban scenes (if not the country’s) biggest charting prospect, having already gained an overseas fanbase with releases such as Muhammad Ali, Beast (featuring Loick Essien) and Chip Diddy Chip, as well as reaching Number 3 in the charts with DJ Ironik on their Elton John collaboration ‘Tiny Dancer’.

Congratulations to Chipmunk himself and Always Recording who are now the second to reach major label status after Number 1 charting Tinchy Stryder inked his Star In The Hood imprint with Universal records.

The urban scene is rising and it is amazing to see, I can only see it rising further and look forward to seeing more success for our talent in the near future.

Tinchy Stryder – Number 1?

the question mark is because I think like everyone else in the scene that this new single has the potential to make that Number 1 spot.

Tinchy Stryder has always been the at the forefront of the Ruff Squad and Dappy is the most recognizable member of Platinum selling N-Dubz, so when you put them together, you are bound to get more than just a collaboration.

Tinchy Stryder has been in the game for a while now, his constant hard work has been paying off and after securing the number 3 spot with ‘Take Me Back’ featuring Taio Cruz, it is only right that the charts take him back and place him at the top spot, simply as not many people can say that they truely deserve it, Stryder can.

As for Number 1, it does not have the instant cathy factor that Take Me Back possessed, however it has the major feel, two of the country’s best talents coming together with a feel good song, they both add their own qualities and Dappy goes on to prove that he really is a force in the industry, I’m sure both have dealt with set backs and many laughing at the idea that they could have such impacts individualy in the music industry, with that, you can sense the eagerness, the hunger and the determination for Number 1 to be a number one.

I think this is just a start, for both Stryder and N-Dubz, both are talented enough to build upon their success so far and open the doors for more talent to shine through.

The single will be out 20th April, so you know to support that!
