Sef – Takin’ Over

I do not understand how people still do not know about Sef, undoubtedly one of the best singers in the country, so I decided to share more with you all.

He originally broke onto the scene as part of the phenomenon that is So Solid Crew, he is now part of Music Kidz (founded by Mr Shabz, the producer behind many of So Solid’s hits including ‘Haters‘) who are signed to Jay-Z’s ROC Nation.

A new album from Sef is on the way, the first single is Need A Hero (video to be filmed soon), not many people know but Sef was signed to Atlantic records and has worked with the likes of Platinum selling Robin Thicke and singer/songwriter Sean Garret (who has written for Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, Usher, Britney Spears and Beyonce to name a few), so the talent he possesses cannot be denied.

This track is titled Takin’ Over,

TEEZY!!

If you have read the previous posts then you would have read my opinion on Teezy, he has all the potential to make a big impact on the mainstream, Teezy possesses many strengths in terms of entertainment value, already known as an outstanding performer, however, his recent appearance on the Tim Westwood show, offered Teezy a platform to prove that dancing is not his only talent.

Chipmunk signs to Major Label

UK’s own Mr Munk, better known as Chipmunk has announced that he has signed to major label Sony (Columbia) records.

The move has come whilst much anticipation for the release of his debut ‘I Am Chipmunk‘ continues, the Mobo Award winner has been risen from a little known emcee to one of the urban scenes (if not the country’s) biggest charting prospect, having already gained an overseas fanbase with releases such as Muhammad Ali, Beast (featuring Loick Essien) and Chip Diddy Chip, as well as reaching Number 3 in the charts with DJ Ironik on their Elton John collaboration ‘Tiny Dancer’.

Congratulations to Chipmunk himself and Always Recording who are now the second to reach major label status after Number 1 charting Tinchy Stryder inked his Star In The Hood imprint with Universal records.

The urban scene is rising and it is amazing to see, I can only see it rising further and look forward to seeing more success for our talent in the near future.

Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow

This song has is crazy!!

Now obviously when you have a song so good, a lot of people are going to make their versions, there are many remixes, I have chosen my three favourite and I want to know which one you prefer?

Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow (Remix) ft. 50 cent

I will like to add that I’m not a big fan of Fergie’s part in THIS remix! ..it is hard to find good versions so have to work with this for now:

Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow (Remix) ft. Kid Cudi:

“Tell Me, How You Feel?”

Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow (Remix) ft. Busta Rhymes

I so want to see an official remix with all three, now that would be BIG!

Tell me, which one do you like? ..Then I’ll give you my ratings for each one

Mario – Boom In It ft. The Dream

It’s not the latest but it is one of his recent unreleased tracks, I have heard a few new recordings by Mario and this is the pick of the bunch in my opinion.

Produced by Tricky Stewart and written by and featuring The Dream, Boom In It has the ingredients of a hit, if not in the charts then at least as a potential album track. I felt the traditional R&B vibe with Mario’s vocals and the song’s melody, whilst content and the literally ‘Booming’ beat provides a more modern and current R&B feel, nicely fused and resulting in what could be another success single for Tricky Steward and The Dream, not to mention putting Mario back in the spotlight as one of the talented singers the genre has to offer.

DJ Class – I’m the Ish (Remix) ft. Kanye West

I’ve been blasting the original and the Jermaine Dupri & Trey Songz remix for some time now, but here is the official remix featuring man of the moment, the Louis Vuitton Don himself..Kanye West.

I like this remix a lot, the beat was always a classic, it’s hypnotic synths and the kind of drums that you just cannot help but to nod your head to, DJ Class really put together something special for the clubs with I’m the Ish. Kanye as always does not disappoint, the song was catchy as it is, Kanye West has just made it even more so, as he did on the official remix for Lil’ Wayne – Lollipop, the Chi-Town rapper/producer puts his own twist with clever rhymes and a post 808’s & Heartbreaks flow. Another hit to add to the large collection and major props to DJ Class for creating such a classic.

Lil’ Wayne & Juelz Santana – With One Arm

Found this track and just had to share it with you all!

To me, this is what Lil’ Wayne is about, it is that real, raw, creative, crazy and entertaining rap that Weezy is capable of, on this rock sample, Wayne and Juelz Santana come out guns blazing. Personal opinion, Wayne is the better of the two on this track, similar to how Santana outshines Lil’ Wayne on their track Let us Pray.

I have been waiting on the ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’ project for ages now, no idea when it will see the light of day, although sources say that Juelz is waiting until his album is released and gains further popularity and status as at present Lil’ Wayne is in a whole new platform as an artist. I’m not too fussed as long as I continue to hear tracks as good as these.
