Lost In A Dream (filmed in Germany)

The production creates the atmosphere, the concept stands out among the usuals, well crafted and a lyrically gifted artist, Mili Dee matches the tracks full potential with his witty lyrics and clever wordplay, this is just a start for the young artist and producer, keep a look out for Mili Dee.

Ozzie B – Maybee Ting (Refix) ft. Lip E, Double S, Shocka, Flirta D, Lethal Bizzle, JME & Frisco

The original was massive, the video was even bigger, so here comes the remix, courtesy of Ozzie B and GMTA (Great Minds Think Alike).

Featuring a line-up of new comer Lip E, rising stars Double S & Shocka of North London collective Marvell Crew, established Flirta D and Lethal Bizzle take it back to the old school before JME & Frisco represent Boy Better Know by adding their flair and charisma to the track.

Ozzie B got the stars out for this remix and each one offers something different on this funky mid-tempo beat.

M.I. – Hustle (Remix) ft. SAS

MTV Africa award winner M.I. reaches out to UK’s European representers, Eurogang’s SAS (Mega & Mayhem) for the remix to what is becoming an African classic, Hustle.

Mega & Mayhem have been consistant with the quality of their music, they were one of the earlier artists I tipped for success, this was back when I did not even write, I was just a fan, they went on to work with Dame Dash and there was talk regarding Dipset, but all that matters is that SAS are well respected both in the UK and in USA, that is a rare accomplishment, with this track the Flygerian brothers have now justified their reputation in Africa, a good look for the two, representing the United Kingdom with two honest and heartfelt verses, M.I. has a style of his own and you can tell why this song is such a hit, so combine the two and you have an even bigger record and another step forward in spreading unity through music.

Charlie Sloth – One More Drink

I like this, Charlie Sloth is definitely finding his voice and lane having devoted so much to the craft itself, this is actually a great record, many people will relate, many more will enjoy it. The concept is good, the comic value of the record is a big plus point, but most of all, the realism, Charlie’s storytelling is on point as he delivers his portrayal of a particular night. Video is as entertaining as the song, a good effort from Charlie Sloth, having already gained over 150,000 views, keep an eye out for Charlie Sloth.

Ghetts – Skadoosh ft. Maxsta & Dolla Da Dustman

While 2009 saw some positivity with many urban artists breaking through into the charts, it also saw the negative with many artists being blackballed, Giggs prevailed and recently signed a contract with XL recordings, so there is hope and nobody deserves some mainstream recognition than of the elite emcees in the Grime scene..Ghetts.

Here is the new video for Skadoosh ft. Maxsta & Dolla Da Dustman:

As a fan of Ghetts, you beleive in his talent and you cannot help but to expect nothing but the best, so at first instance this track deceives those expectations, however this strangely allows you to focus more on Ghetts and his flow really provides the track with much needed depth, Ghetts reaches out to up and coming emcee Maxsta (also from East London) as well as long time collaborator and friend Dolla, both features deliver, Maxsta (who is one of the artists I tipped last year after hearing one of his sets) has progressed well since, now working with some of the best in the scene, this track is an obvious example of his development thus far, with Dolla stepping up to lay down his opinions to those who feel he has fallen off. The video is a light hearted portrayal of the artists within a dark themed set, featuring a host of cameos including appearances from Mz Bratt, Devlin and Griminal, the video is directed by Digital Dan, who uses his abilities to capture the right vibe and offer the track a matching visual.

Skadoosh is taken from the forthcoming mixtape ‘Calm Before The Storm’, which will then set you up for the new album, ‘Rebel With A Cause’, so look out for more from Ghetts (aka Ghetto) as he looks set to start the year off his way.

Clipse – Back By Popular Demand (Popeye’s) ft. Cam’ron (Official Video)

CLIPSE2

The much hyped collaboration finally leaks, since some information regarding tracklisting for their upcoming album ‘Til The Casket Drops’ had surfaced on the internet, there was a lot of interest in this one (even though there was a Kanye West collabo too), after Kinda Like A Big Deal ft. Kanye West was released, Popeye’s was all that people could talk about.

Dipset general Cam’ron had turned down the chance to work with the Clipse before, when invited to feature on the remix for their anthem ‘Grindin’, however now seems to be the time, many may expect a lot more, but I think the real Hip-Hop (or general Clipse/Cam’ron) fan will appreciate this for it’s classic rap feel.

[Youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_vrzuh0xKU&feature=related]

Produced by The Neptunes and featuring a hook from Pharrell Williams, this track was created especially for this concept, The Neptunes have always known how to bring the best out of the Clipse, even though they are capable to shine just as well on a Justice League, Timbaland or Kanye West beat (I beleive Pusha T is one of the few emcees that could hold his own on a Dr Dre beat), there is a present chemistry between the two and this is obviously evident with this. So, once again the Clipse have not dissapointed, ‘fly-talk’, slick word-play, they possess it all and bring it to the table with this, an extra-dimension is offered with the feature provided by Cam’ron, “I’m Pharrell (for real) with the Clipse (clips)”, is one of the lines as he provides a classic Killa Cam flow, his presence is felt on the track and helps round this record up with the appeal of a classic song.

The video is a more realistic feeling video, rather than the generic extravagant videos that we are used to seeing, I like the styles that both the Clipse and Cam’ron bring to it, the video manages to parallel the beat in terms of its appeal, a laid back, friendly atmosphere, a video that people could actually relate to.

The Clipse’s third album ‘Til The Casket Drops’ is tipped to be another classic, with features from Keri Hilson, Kanye West & more, expect more anthems from Clipse and the whole Re-Up gang.

Clipse – I’m Good (Remix) ft. Rick Ross (Official Video)

“The best duo ever”, according to Pusha T, one half of the street favourite The Clipse, return with a lavish video to the remix of their single I’m Good featuring Rick Ross:

This remix is a change in contrast to the original, the beat is the same, the content and video however are darker, more luxurious and obviously with the, “Bawwsss” Rick Ross on the feature, the Maybach lifestyle is expected, a lot of bragging and statements being made, however, although typical of the two, they are two of the best providers of such music and so this collaboration is pulled off with ease.

Wiley – Take That (Official Video)

The track has been heavily rotated on radio and the video is doing the same on TV, having already gathered over 150,000 views of one video alone (there is this particular one which is taken from Wiley’s own Youtube channel, there are then two more videos courtesy of Universal and Island records’ Youtube channels).

The unique production is courtest of Chew Fu, who fuses Electro, Drum & Bass and Grime to create an edgy up-tempo platform for Wiley to step up a level, Wiley sounds as comfortable and in his zone as ever, Wiley’s lyrical delivery is Grime, sounding like he has a point to prove, whereas the structure itself is more suited for a commercial audience. A clever anthem, as well as a much needed approval to end the year with after this years chart domination from fellow Grime rooted artists Dizzee Rascal, Tinchy Stryder (who makes a cameo as Wiley refers to stryderman in the song) and Chipmunk, Wiley is more than an emcee, he has created a legacy in regards to UK urban music, with many strongly beleiving that Wiley should have been where Dizzee Rascal is a long time ago, however everything happens for a reason, each artist has their position, While Dizzee Rascal plays his role in diluting if not ending stereotypes, Wiley has helped build a large family of talent, continously bringing through new artists, such as recent Number 1 chart topper..Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder has always been tipped for success by Wiley himself, therefore I beleive many do not give Wiley the respect and acknowledgement he deserves, those who feel that he has fallen off, should listen to the lyrics clearly as he is speaking to you.

Wiley has stepped up the work rate and this is the first single from his forthcoming album, he has a new record deal, a new motivation it seems and definitely expect quality new music for a man who will forever be known as a pioneer in defining a sound that the UK can call their own.

The video, like the song is unique, it is has a dark essence to it whilst mixing lighting and colour to maximize effect and emphasis, the effects work well and overall Take That possesses an epic element, a track certainly deserving of support especially from the UK, if this record makes it to number 1, it will bridge the success of this year with the success to come in the next one.

Ny – Sea Sick (Official Video)

Previewed this single a while back, I tipped it to be a hit, obviously one more catered for the females, this does not mean the song is not any good, I think Ny deserves far more recognition, her previous single Dangerous should have been a smash, but the industry works in its mysterious ways, if Dangerous was (for example) Keri Hilson’s single, it would be constantly played and praised, yet when we have someone as talented as Ny, they are just looked over.

I hope Sea Sick brings her the deserved recognition, produced by Davinche, this song could so easily be a Ne-Yo/Stargate hit, and by that I mean, it has a nice beat, it has a concept, lyrics and its overall feeling, I have to admit, Davinche surprised me with this one and that is exactly what you want from the premier producers! Ny as always sounds great, I’m surprised not she has not done many collaborations, Ny could so easily be a success stateside (like most of our scene) as she possesses all the essentials.

The song is good, make sure you spread the word and support Ny, we need more real talented people that deserve to be at the top of the charts!!
